The Story
“A single hand sweeping an embossed guilloché dial, the way the old clock towers told time before minute hands were common.
Eka (Sanskrit for 'one') is a single-hand watch, inspired by the clock towers that told time with one hand long before minute hands were common. Avarth modified a 2076 hand-wound mechanical movement to drive a single hand across an embossed guilloché dial with pad-printed indices. The 36mm steel case sits under a super-domed sapphire, with a Tree of Life engraved on the caseback. It comes in ivory and black or in all burgundy. You read it to the nearest five minutes or so, which is the point: Avarth's pitch is that time is meant to be experienced, not chased.

About the maker
Avarth Watches
Founded 2025 · India · Sharan & Sanjana
Avarth is a husband-and-wife micro-brand built on a specific premise: that Indian watch buyers grew up watching their parents and grandparents collect watches with intention, and deserve a brand that continues that tradition at accessible prices. Their debut trio — Ashva, Waqt, and Chandini — punches dramatically above its price point with jump hour complications, retrograde minutes, guilloché dials, and Devanagari numerals. Both sold-out models moved on word of mouth alone.
