Karnavati is the debut from Ahmedabad Watch Company — named for the ancient title of Ahmedabad itself, the city King Karnadev founded before Ahmed Shah renamed it. Its party trick is the dial: a genuine silver coating over deep hand-engraved jali floralwork, lacquer-sealed, paired with blued dauphine hands and a domed mineral crystal. The heritage runs to the caseback, engraved with Gujarat's own iconography — the Uttarayan kite, garba dancers, the Gir lion, the Teen Darwaza and the city's coordinates — each of the 99 pieces individually numbered. Running a Japanese Miyota 2039 quartz at ₹5,999 delivered, it is priced like an everyday watch but finished like a keepsake. A remarkably assured first outing for a brand-new house.
