The Story
“A deep-green lacquered sunburst for the rainforest around Agumbe in the Western Ghats, with a lumed tree at nine for the forest and a wave at three for the sea.
Agumbe, in Karnataka's Western Ghats, is one of the wettest places in India and is known as the home of the king cobra, and BWC built the Peninsula Agumbe for a monsoon trip there. The pebble-shaped, lugless 44mm steel case is designed to sit well on both small and large wrists, under a super-domed sapphire crystal, with 200m of water resistance and a Swiss Sellita SW200-1 automatic. The green sunburst dial is built up in layers of lacquer and carries large diver-style indices filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova; the marker at 9 is a tree and the one at 3 a wave. The Peninsula series maps India's ranges and coasts, with Zanskar, Laccadive and Mannar as the other dials. It is BWC's most outdoorsy watch and one of the most original case shapes in Indian watchmaking.
