The Story
“A verified Mughal-era coin at the dial's centre — copper paisa or silver rupee, struck under one of the six great Mughal emperors. The numerals of empire, now measuring something the emperors never imagined.
The Mughal Empire minted coins in silver and copper across its provinces — Agra, Delhi, Lahore, Surat. Each coin carried the emperor's name in Persian calligraphy and the mint city. Jaipur Watch Company certifies and sets these coins into watch dials, creating objects where Mughal metallurgy and Swiss-trained assembly meet on a single wrist.

“I'll be getting one soon. I'm from America and would like something to wear at desi events. I have an Omega, Breitling, and Apple Watch. Going to get one of the coin watches, the artwork ones look cool but not my style.”
“It's hard to tell time on some of them as there is no contrast between the hands and dial. Just because it's hand painted dial doesn't justify the cost. I would rather save up and buy a Longines or something rather than wasting money on this garbage.”
