The Shastra is Ajwain's field watch, and its most unusual feature is inside: a new-old-stock Allwyn A6300 hand-wound movement, made by Allwyn of Hyderabad, once one of HMT's few Indian competitors. Ajwain puts it in a sandblasted 38mm titanium case, 11mm thick and 45mm lug to lug, with a top-hat mineral crystal, an etched solid caseback and 100m of water resistance. 'Tulja' takes its cue from Tulja Bhavani, the family deity of Shivaji and the Bhonsle kings, and its siblings are 'Bhavani' and the sold-out 'Swarajya'. Each watch is individually numbered, and deliveries start in December 2026. For anyone interested in Indian watchmaking history, an Allwyn movement in a new titanium case is hard to resist.
