The Story

The certified 1947 British India One Rupee — its walking tiger picked out in silver against a gilded field — set beneath a gold-plated case and Roman numerals. The last coin of the Raj, dressed for the evening.

The gold-plated sibling to the steel Roman Baagh, this sets the same historically loaded 1947 One Rupee — struck only in 1946–47, the final coinage under British rule — beneath a warm gilt case. A Miyota 8215 automatic beats behind front-and-back sapphire with AR coating. The walking tiger echoes the silhouette India later adopted for Make in India, so the watch reads as both an ending and a beginning. Where the steel version is a quiet history lesson, the gold one wants to be noticed.
