The Story
“A genuine King George VI One Anna coin — British India's smallest coinage, struck 1943–1947 — set at the centre of hand-worked filigree scrollwork, its edge cut to echo a coin's own milled rim.
Filigree is jewellery's most patient craft — fine threads of precious metal, twisted and soldered into lattice by hand. Jaipur Watch Company borrows the technique for a bezel that frames a genuine King George VI One Anna coin, British India's lowest denomination, struck sometime between 1943 and 1947. Limited to 100 numbered pieces, each with a slightly different coin — colonial-era currency, repurposed as horology.
